SIX men have been arrested in a crackdown on serious and organised crime which featured a raid in Bodelwyddan.

North Wales Police arrested the men on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled dugs in the Gwynedd and Ynys Mon areas.

The arrests took place shortly after 3pm in Caernarfon, Bodelwyddan and Manchester.
The six men age aged in their early 20s and mid 30s come from the Caernarfon, Manchester and Lancashire areas.

Detective Inspector Arwyn Jones who is leading the operation said: “The arrests have taken place as part of Operation Scorpion’s continued fight against serious and organised crime in the region and is the culmination of a protracted intelligence led operation.

In addition to the arrests we have also recovered a quantity of controlled drugs.

" As part of this operation a number of simultaneous Misuse of Drugs Act search warrants were carried out throughout the region.

“A number of the premises searched are in North Wales and so I’d like to thank the local community for their help and support and in particular their patience and cooperation whilst we conducted this operation and reassure them that tackling organised crime in their community remains our priority."

DI Jones concluded: “Anyone with information regarding the arrests and searches we have made today, or indeed any illegal drugs use to contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
