Buckley man fumes after bikes stolen from outside home

A MAN who had his motorbike stolen from outside his home said he is “bouncing with rage” after his sons’ bicycles were taken by thieves just days later.

Malcolm Roberts, 43, said his two sons’ bikes were taken from the rear of his house on Alyn Road, Buckley, on Sunday evening.

The theft comes less than two weeks after his own motorbike was stolen.

“My son Luke was up before me on Monday morning and told me to go and look in the back garden as he saw his bike and his brother Kyle’s bike had gone,” said Mr Roberts.

“They were there on Sunday evening as Luke had been out on his brother’s bike and his friend had taken Luke’s out.

“They put them back in the garden at 6pm as they usually would.”

This is the second theft from Mr Roberts’ property after his own Suzuki GXS-R600 motorcycle – a bike Mr Roberts described as his “pride and joy” – was taken from outside his home on March 14.

“I’ve had £1,500 worth of stuff taken from me in the space of a month,” Mr Roberts said.

“I am absolutely bouncing with rage, this is ridiculous. The problem is now I don’t feel like I can put my things anywhere safely.

“I’ve had to put my son's scooter in the kitchen.

“It’s so frustrating, I’m a single parent and money is tight at the moment, so I can’t just go out and replace the bikes.”

Mr Roberts said his youngest son, Kyle, 11, is in France and is yet to find out his bike had been stolen.

But he said his other son, Luke, 13, is “devastated” by the thefts.

Speaking about Kyle, Mr Roberts said: “I'm going to have to tell him his brand new bike has been stolen. He's going to be gutted.

“I'm just so angry, it's a kick in the teeth.”

A North Wales Police spokesman said sometime during Sunday evening, a green BMX child's bicycle and a purple men’s bicycle were stolen on Alyn Road, Buckley.

Anyone with information about the theft should contact on 101, quoting crime reference number R043060.
