RHYL'S popular air show is to return this year at the end of August.
The two-day aviation extravaganza will take place on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31, one week after the Bank Holiday weekend.
Last year's show attracted a record-breaking crowd of between 140,000 and 150,000 and featured the Red Arrows and the iconic Avro Vulcan.
Rhyl mayor, councillor Andy Rutherford said: "It's great news for Rhyl. The air shows bring thousands of visitors to Rhyl over the weekend and are always a welcome boost, not only for the town in general but also for the town centre.
"Last year I spoke to loads of people from outside the area who had come to Rhyl especially for the air show and they were not disappointed."
The annual event, which launched in 2009, is organised by Denbighshire Council with support from Rhyl Town Council.
