Armed raiders make off with cash from Rhyl bookmakers

ARMED raiders have made off with cash after a robbery at a Rhyl bookmakers.

North Wales Police have said two men armed with what is believed to be a hammer, entered Corbett bookmakers on Cefndy Road at about 8.30pm on Thursday night.

Chief Inspector Jeff Moses said a member of staff was threatened before the men escaped with an amount of cash in bank notes.

They made their way on foot out of the store down and are thought to have fled down Walford Avenue and possibly towards Vale Road and Marsh Road.

Police attended, a search of the area was undertaken which proved negative.

The first offender is described as between 5ft 8’ to 5ft 9’ tall and was dressed in a black hoody and was also wearing white gloves.

The second offender is described as wearing a dark coloured snood across his face and was wearing a grey coloured hoody. 

He was also carrying a JD plastic drawstring bag which was bright green in colour and had yellow stripes.

Detectives investigating are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the offence or who saw men matching the description in the vicinity last night to contact Detectives at St Asaph CID immediately on 101 quoting reference number R022450.
