AN ABERGELE mother’s obsession with cleaning has landed her a place on a Channel 4 documentary set to air this month.

Linda Dykes, 47, of Llanfair Road, will appear in a six-part series entitled Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, which will see her, along with 13 other participants, on a mission to clean up Britain.

Linda, who owns her own cleaning agency, Diamond Cleaning, said making the programme has been a fantastic experience.

“It has been brilliant - I have loved it,” she said. “We are all excited to watch the show.”

She was full of praise for everyone who worked on the programme, describing the producers, runners, and the rest of the behind-the-scenes crew as ‘fantastic’.

“The hardest thing whilst filming was keeping the continuity with my hair - I would like to thank my hairdresser, William Bradbury, from Phoenix Hair and Make-up in Abergele for helping me throughout, and also the owner Pauline Heap-Williams.”

Linda lives with her 18-year-old son, Jack, and also has a daughter Natalie, aged 23, and a five-year-old granddaughter, Brooke.Jack, who studies bricklaying at Llandrillo College, said he was used to his mum’s ways.

“She is always cleaning,” he said. “I am not even allowed to make a sandwich in case I get crumbs everywhere.”

Linda, who grew up with her eight brothers and one sister said she has been the same since the age of 10.

“It started when I got my own bedroom,” she said. “I would clean when everyone was in bed.”

Linda believes her obsessive compulsive cleaning is a gift that she can share with other people, to help make Britain a better and cleaner place to live.

The programme will see her recruit her own army of compulsive cleaners to help clean Britain’s dirty homes and filthy public spaces.

The clean-up  will begin in Leatherhead, where Linda will help clean up a drop-in centre for the vulnerable and the homeless.

The series is set to start on February 13.
