HUNDREDS of music fans are set to descend on Prestatyn this weekend for the 21st annual Gathering.

The music festival, hosted by Alarm and Big Country star Mike Peters, takes place at Pontins Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park.

The weekend will also consist of various entertainment including an aftershow party, a signing and photo session with the Dyserth rocker.

This year’s line-up includes guests Joe Silva, James Stevenson and pianist Mark Taylor.

Festivalgoers will also be treated to a screening of the movie Vinyl introduced by Mike Peters.

Directed by Rhyl-born Sara Sugarman and shot locally, the movie starring Keith Allen and Phil Daniels, tells the story of a rock n roll hoax which saw Mike Peters score a hit with a spoof band.

On the Sunday morning, revellers will be invited to blow away the cobwebs, and raise money for the world’s leading rock and roll cancer foundation Love Hope Strength.

Co-founder of the charity, which promotes innovative, music related, outreach and awareness programmes for leukaemia and cancer sufferers and their families, Mike Peters will lead a short non-strenuous walk to Prestatyn beach in an event called The Gathering Rocks and sing a few songs.

The doors at this year’s Gathering open at 7.45pm on January 25, and the weekend will continue until 2pm on Sunday January 27.
