A mother-of-two has been barred from a Rhyl town centre pub after attacking another woman over a man they had both been in a relationship with.
Magistrates in Llandudno heard that Samantha Jane Oldis, 45, had fallen out previously with Shona Ward but when they met in the Imperial Hotel on August 30 last year they greeted each other.
Oldis then got up and without warning started punching Miss Ward around the head and arms, and prosecutor James Neary said that led to a scuffle between men at the bar.
“I was in total surprise and didn’t fight back,” Miss Ward told police.
Oldis, of Gwynfryn Avenue, Rhyl, pleaded guilty to common assault and was fined £40. She was also ordered to pay her victim £100 in compensation, costs of £85 and a £32 surcharge.
Her solicitor Donald Roberts said the police had originally intended to use an out-of-court settlement and Oldis had paid a £75 course fee, but had not attended.
