A seven-year-old boy remains in a critical condition following an accident on the Llandudno Promenade on Sunday.

North Wales Police officers are continuing to investigate the two-vehicle collision involving motorcycles, which were a part of a display team, which happened at about 11.30am on a closed section of the promenade - due to the Wales Rally GB.

The collision happened near the jump ramp on the promenade, placed there for the rally, close to the St George Hotel.

The seven-year-old was airlifted by the Welsh Air Ambulance to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool where he currently remains.

North Wales Police temporary superintendent, Neil Harrison, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy.

“This is now a joint investigation involving North Wales Police and the Health and Safety Executive and our enquiries are now underway.

“Footage received by members of the public from their camera phones as well as CCTV from local hotels will now form part of the investigation and I would like to thank all those who have contacted us.

“We continue to appeal to anybody who witnessed the collision and who are yet to contact us, to do please do so as soon as possible.”
