Residents in Prestatyn are invited to show their support for felines by visiting Cats Protection’s brand new shop.

Located at 52 The High Street, it opened earlier this month and stocks a variety of items including second-hand clothes, accessories, household goods, books and media, bric-a-brac and cat related products.

Open between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Saturday and between 10am and 4pm on Sundays, the shop will generate funds to support the charity’s work helping around 200,000 cats a year.

Jane Dutton, Cats Protection’s Area Retail Manager, said: “The opening day was very successful and we were thrilled that Mayor of Prestatyn, Anton Sampson, attended and gave a speech.

“We invite all cat-loving shoppers to pop in and would also love to hear from anyone willing to volunteer their time to help in-store and have a number of opportunities available.

“From window dressing and visual merchandising to stock selection and providing customer service, there are plenty of roles available for anyone looking to gain new skills, meet new people and help cats in the process.

“Funds raised by the shop will help us to continue our essential cat care work including the neutering of both domestic and feral cats, providing information for cat owners as well as re-homing cats.”

Anyone with queries about donating goods, or to find out more about volunteering their time at the shop, should call 01745 859028 or email prestatyn.shopmanager@cats.org.uk
