THOUSANDS are expected to head to an annual country fayre tomorrow.

Last year, the St Asaph Rotary event attracted more than 3000 visitors.

This year, the Anglesey Hussars will return. Horses, dogs and birds of prey will be giving special displays and for children, there will be organised fun and games in the arena.

A tug of war event is open to all - both young and old.

A spokesperson for the rotary club said: "This was thoroughly entertaining last year. These fun contests will take place again. The successes of the enjoyable Punch and Judy and the fun dog competitions, which attracted large crowds, will also be repeated this year.

"We are planning an even better day, packed with entertainment and amusements for everyone."

The event will be held at Llannerch Park in St Asaph tomorrow (Sunday, August 19). Entrance is £5. Children are free.

Entertainment and displays involving animals, skills, sports, vehicles and machinery will be available.

Nearly 70 business and charity stalls have been lined up to provide "interesting and fascinating wares" as well as information and activities. Visitors will also be able to check their health with a free blood pressure test.

The spokesperson for the rotary club added: "Last year the club made about £4,600 and the other charities on the field made an estimated £4,000.

"This enabled St Asaph Rotary to support deserving projects in the community and around the world."
