ANOTHER gull has been spotted with a crossbow bolt through its body in Rhyl.

Donna Allen spotted the bird on Monday (July 23) at about 12.30pm, opposite the Royal Alexandra Hospital near the beach.

She also saw another gull, about two weeks ago, with a crossbow through it.

She said: "This was flying near the toilet block across the road from the Alex hospital.

"The seagull I saw on Monday was a different one. The item was pierced through a different part of its torso.

"It is awful. The fact they are flying around wounded is sad to see."

Last week, Wendy Daniel was sitting on the grass, near the Golf Club in Rhyl, when she noticed a seagull fly by with a cross bow bolt through it.

Since the start of July, at least five birds in Prestatyn and Rhyl have been shot with air rifles.

Three were discovered on the same street in Prestatyn, on Salisbury Avenue.

A spokesperson for RSPCA Cymru said: "We are very shocked to hear about this concerning incident and there possibly being another gull that has been shot by a cross bow.

"If anyone has information or sees this injured gull please can they contact us."
