MASTER builders will show off their incredible designs during a Lego exhibition in Rhyl.

Children and adults will be able to view displays – including models of Rhyl’s Sky Tower, a rollercoaster and fairground rides – and build their own creations during the event at Sussex Street Christian Centre on Saturday, August 18.

There will also be stalls plus Star Wars and fantasy displays, trains, Pac-Man, Rubik’s cube and more.

Money will be raised during the day for Fairy Bricks, a charity that buys Lego and distributes it to children in hospital.

Floss Barrett, organiser of the show, said: “I am an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) and a member of Northern Brickworks, a Lego group for adult fans of Lego.

“The new Lego rollercoaster will be on display and working at the event along with many more Lego fairground rides. This is my display as I love the fairground rides.

“We also have trains running on the day and a gentleman is bringing trucks that he has designed and built himself. There will also be an elves display and much more. We have planned games of skill on the day. Lego cakes will also be available for purchase along with Lego accessories.

“There will also be jewellery and birthday cards as well as other items”

Ben Green, a member of Northern Brickworks Lego Users Group (LUG) who is from the area, was inspired by last year’s Lego event and as a result, built the Sky Tower attraction.

Floss, who has been involved in Lego building for eight years, added: “In terms of how long each creation takes to make, it all varies on the individual.

“I have arthritis in my hand and I find Lego building very therapeutic. It helps with movement and co-ordination.”

The exhibition will run between 10am and 4pm. Entry is £3 for adults and free for children.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
