GARDEN fans can look forward to a treat this Sunday.

Two gardens in Prestatyn will be open to visitors on July 15. The gardens belong to a winner and runner up of Prestatyn Flower Show's best front and rear gardens competition.

The three venues open include: Iris Dobbie, 5, Birch Grove, Prestatyn, LL19 9RH; Robert and Margaret Smith, Hilbre, Manor Close, Prestatyn, LL19 9AH and Tim and Ann Williams, 3 Oakhill Drive, Prestatyn, LL19 9PY.

Pauline Mylchreest, organiser of Prestatyn Flower Show, said: "Mrs Dobbie has won the competition for the past two years and she has cultivated a well-established town garden with a variety of borders, woodland, grass, herbaceous shrubs and areas of specific interest to include alpine, drought, tropical and bog planting.

"Mr and Mrs Smith were runners up in 2017. Their home is surrounded by a cottage garden with a fish pond and various fruits and herbaceous planting. It is steeply terraced with many steps (care required) and beautiful views.

"When visitors have explored these picturesque gardens, they will receive a warm welcome from the show committee at the home of Tim and Ann Williams, 3 Oakhill Drive, Prestatyn, LL19 9PY.

"As well as revelling in their secluded garden with shrubs and tree borders, colourful herbaceous planters and small pond, guests can also enjoy a well deserved cup of tea and homemade cake."

Tim organises the Prestatyn Classic Car Show and Ann is show secretary of the Prestatyn Flower Show."

Plants will be on sale in all three gardens.

Tickets for admission to the three gardens cost £5 per person and can be purchased from Mrs Dobbie at her home.
