AN APPEAL is being made to trace a mum who has left her newborn baby at hospital.

Michaela Rehova, who may also be known as Michaela Novak is believed to be from the Czech Republic.

She gave birth to a boy at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, on Wednesday, June 6 but she later left the hospital of her own accord and her current whereabouts are unknown.

Denbighshire County Council is supporting the appeal to find the mum.

Rhyl Journal:

A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council, said: “We have a duty of care to try and trace the mother, to see what she would like to call her child, to check that she’s ok and to ask her about the child’s future.

"That is why we are making a direct appeal to Michaela to get in touch with us so that we can ask her these questions directly."

The baby boy, who is doing well, is currently in the care of social services.

The council is making a direct appeal to Michaela or anyone who may know where she is to get in touch.

Michaela is described as being six-foot-tall and it is believed she has links in Rhyl and in the Warrington, Birchwood, Widnes and Bradford areas of Northern England.

The spokesperson added: "The information we have is very limited and that is why we want to trace Michaela. Extensive enquiries have been carried out, and now we are making a public appeal to try and find her.

"Also, we would like to hear from anyone who may know her whereabouts or who may have seen her in recent days to get in touch with the Council as soon as possible."
