A COMMUNITY project has taken delivery of a defibrillator thanks to Tesco's charity token scheme.
The ASK centre in Water Street, Rhyl, which is run by the United Church, was given a grant to purchase the life-saving equipment.
Natasha Harper, who works at the centre as the community facilitator, said "During the course of the week, we have a large number of people who use our facilities here.
"Thankfully, we have not had the need to use such equipment to date.
"However research shows that for a patient who goes into cardiac arrest, the chance of survival diminishes by 10 per cent for every minute they are left untreated.
"So this truly is a life-saving piece of equipment."
The Ask Centre has a coffee shop, which is open between 10am and 1.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
