Tickets are still available to catch a Rhyl institution' celebrate the last of the song and dance men tonight.

The Rhyl Liberty Players will mark their 75th summer with a production of John Osborne’s three act play The Entertainer, which will be at The Little Theatre for three nights.

The play became the famous 1960 film with Laurence Olivier, who was nominated for an Oscar playing the role of angry, failed performer Archie Rice.

Archie is a struggling variety player, the last of the song and dance men at a time when vaudeville was fading from British theatres.

Set in 1956, this poignant story paints a vivid picture of a family of run down vaudevillians struggling to survive in a post-war Britain as backdrop to Archie's struggles, with his only escape from reality being the world of comedy and song on the stage.

Join the Liberty players for the Entertainer from Wednesday, June 21 until Saturday, June 23 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £9, with concessions, available by calling 03336 663366 or via libertyplayers.co.uk.
