COASTGUARD teams were sent out early in the morning following reports of youths planning to walk into the sea.

Flint Coastguard Rescue Team confirmed it was alerted by the UK Coastguard, along with the Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team, to reports of two youths intending to walk into the sea near to the Robin Hood caravan park in Prestatyn at about 4am this morning.

On scene Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team had carried out a search from Rhyl, while Flint Coastguard Rescue Team searched from Prestatyn sailing club - both with nothing found.

A team from Rhyl also searched the shoreline but found nothing.

The search was widened, following which the teams were advised that both youths were back at their caravan safe and well.

All units were then stood down and returned to their stations.
