A sensational afternoon of song accompanied afternoon tea for residents of a Rhyl care home.

Volunteers from the town's dementia groups and members of the community joined residents of St David’s Residential Home for the weekly Carry on Singing at the United Church on Tynewydd Road.

The group of more than 50 people joined together to sing classics Daisy Daisy, Hello Dolly, Calon Lan, and more.

Residents dressed for the occasion with colourful hats and twinkly 'dicky' bow ties, as well as making use of various musical shaker instruments to encourage interactivity.

After a quiz, joke telling and monologues, the singers and guests were treated to afternoon tea prepared by the volunteers.

The Thursday, June 7 session ended with a rendition of We’ll Meet Again, sang in tribute to a volunteer leaving the group.

‘Carry on Singing’ takes place each Tuesday morning 10.30 - 11.30am in Christ Church, Water Street, Rhyl and new members are always welcome to this dementia friendly singing group.
