A Rhyl nursery has raised more than £1000 searching for Peppa Pig in the mud.

The children of Beach House Day nursery on Marine Drive took part in the peppa Pig Muddy Puddle Walk on behalf of Save the Children, raising £1033 in their first fundraiser.

To raise the money, the children were sponsored to take part on a ‘muddy puddle’ walk to find hidden characters from the hit Nickolodeon show, which had been placed on their regular route, while the remaining children had fun in the nursery's garden on Marine Drive mixing mud and water to make their own muddy puddles.

Sera Jones, general manager of the nursery said: "The children and staff enjoyed taking part in the event and we were overwhelmed with the response from the children and parents. We would like to thank all staff who took part in the event.

"We would also like to say a special thank you to Luke Mears and his parents Elizabeth and Mark who through friends, family and work colleagues raised a total of £369."
