"AMAZING" memories were made during a festive street party.

More than 250 people joined in a party, held along Grosvenor Road in Prestatyn, on Saturday to commemorate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The event was organised by cllr Tony Flynn, newly appointed deputy mayor of Prestatyn.

Mark Fell-Crook, who lives on the street, said: "I don’t remember seeing a street party like this since Charles and Diana's wedding.

"Thank you to everyone that helped and made it a great day that our kids will never forget."

Resident Mark Lewis added: "Amazing memories were made for our children and us adults of course.

"Tony and his family are a credit to our town and should be applauded for their efforts in bringing the community together."

Cllr Flynn said he was delighted with the turnout.

"About 250 people partied in Grosvenor Road, the youngest was just a few days old - a baby girl born to Reece and Rachel Lewis," he said.

"The sunshine was glorious. It started at about 2.30pm with 100 people but more people joined in, getting the numbers to 250.

"Residents sang along to fabulous music. All had been incredibly generous with food and drink and my wife made cakes.

"People danced in the street and the highlight was a lengthy conga.

"There was something so wonderful about seeing people celebrating and enjoying themselves."

Ladies from Plas Avenue in Prestatyn also celebrated the royal wedding.

Dressed up in union jack colours and tiaras, the residents headed down to the Tudor House in Prestatyn to mark the day.

Among the group was singer Chloe Hopkins.

Chloe said: "The ladies were swapping wedding photos. It was a lovely afternoon."
