The music of one of the most successful pop duos in music history will burst into life once again in Rhyl next week.

The unsurpassed tribute The Carpenters Story heads to the Pavilion on Saturday, May 26 for a magnificent medley of timeless sibling duo Richard and Karen Carpenter.

Created in 1986 by Phil Aldridge, The Carpenters Story was one of the UK’s very first tribute-style shows of its kind.

Amazingly, more than three decades on the show has stood the test of time, almost as well as the original music, and has entertained audiences across the world.

This acclaimed concert-style production celebrates features international star Claire Furley, whose jaw-dropping approximation of the tragic Karen Carpenter’s velvety vocals and an uncanny representation elevate the show beyond a typical tribute.

The charismatic Aldridge pairs beautifully with Furley – a towering stage presence as he commands the role of creative dynamo Richard – leading an on stage orchestra for the full depth of an authentic Carpenters experience.

The performers combine seamlessly with state-of-the-art video projection and lavish musical arrangements to take fans on an incredible journey through the uniqueness that truly was The Carpenters.

The show features timeless classics, including Superstar, (They Long To Be) Close To You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Yesterday Once More, Top of the World, Please Mr Postman, Rainy Days and Mondays, and much more from The Carpenters’ extraordinary, 10-album back catalogue.
