RHYL and District returned from a three-week absence with a thumping 67-0 loss at high-flying Shotton.

The Dragons were no match for the second placed WRU National League Division Two North side during a one-sided affair, but they showed tremendous commitment in the face of adversity which will stand the youthful squad in good stead going forward.

There was a lengthy break just before half time as Rhyl full-back Che Hudson took a hard knock to his back and needed lengthy treatment.

He was taken to hospital which revealed bruising to his kidney and surrounding area and is expec ted to miss the remainder of the season.

The hosts were 38 -0 at half time to give them a comfortable cushion, and their cause was aided further when Dru Roberts was shown a yellow card for dissent.

Shotton ran in 11 tries in total to further boost their chances of joining Denbigh in Division One next term in what was another scintillating display of attacking rugby from the promotion favourites.
