A CARE home has been chosen by residents and families as one of the top 20 in Wales for the fourth year in a row.

Alastair House residential care home in Foryd Road, Kinmel Bay received the award from carehome.co.uk, the leading review guide to care homes.

There are 1,064 homes across Wales.

The award is based on reviews of the care home written by residents, as well as their friends and relatives.

Lakhansi Keshwalla, owner of Alastair House, said: “We feel very proud Alastair House is in the top 20 care homes in Wales for the fourth consecutive year.

“Due to lots of suggestions by our supporters we also help dementia families in the community with our day care services, which we offer seven days a week from 8am till 8pm.”

Davina Ludlow, of carehome.co.uk, said: “It is the residents and their families and friends who have first hand experience of what a care home is like, which is why we use their reviews to find the best care homes in the UK.

“Alastair House proved it provides a high standard of care and we would like to congratulate them on being a top-20 care home in Wales.

"It is such an achievement to be recognised for being a top rated care home by the very people you care for."
