LIFEBOAT volunteers were "ecstatic" to be presented with a donations for more than £1000 by a Rhyl fundraising group as part of their festive dip efforts.
Rhyl RNLI received the donation from Belief. The money takes the lifeboat's fundraising total to £3000.
Martin Jones, Rhyl RNLI Coxswain, said: "The station is very grateful to these hardy people who support us on the day, and throughout the year. As a charity, we rely on their donations to keep the RNLI afloat.
"It's fantastic to see the community getting involved with the RNLI and help raise funds for the charity. The donations from this event will go towards our new Shannon-class lifeboat that’s due to arrive on station the last quarter of 2019."
Yvette Green, volunteer at Belief, added: "We now have 60 members and we actively take part in fundraising from holding pub quizzes to doing triathlons. We all embraced the team spirit to raise funds for our local Lifeboat station. We are already looking forward to 2018 Festive Dip."
