Llyn Brenig will be awash with rafts of charity support this June for St Kentigern Hospice’s first raft race.

Partnering with local outdoor pursuits business Open Door Adventure, the St Asaph hospice is calling for local groups to take on the challenge and sign up for what promises to be a great event.

The raft race takes place on Sunday, June 11, at the reservoir near Cerrigydrudion. It is suitable for teams of up to eight people; who will start the day with the task of building their own raft under the expert guidance of the Open Door Adventure, with all materials provided.

St Kentigern community fundraiser Lindsey Thomas said: “This would be a great opportunity for groups of friends, families, colleagues, sport teams, Rotaries, clubs, colleges and pubs to get together and do something fun to make a difference for local people using St Kentigern services when they need support the most.”

Entry is open to all over the age of 16 and costs £50 per head, which includes all safety equipment, wet gear and an event souvenir.

Sponsorship from the team is also required in order to maximise valuable funds for hospice care.

Entry forms are available from the fundraising office at St Kentigern Hospice on 01745 536022.
