Hundreds of well-wishers packed into a Rhuddlan church for a carol service.

The annual concert, hosted by Denbighshire County Council, took place at St Mary’s Parish Church.

Guests were left well and truly in the festive mood they were treated to a variety of musical performances from Pres Cydweithredol Sir Ddinbych (Denbighshire Co-operative Brass Band) and Choir – Cor Ieuenctid Sir Ddinbych (Denbighshire Youth Choir). Harpist Angharad Huw also entertained crowds as well as soloists Tesni Jones and Ynyr Rogers.

More than £600 was raised during the evening for St Kentigern Hospice and Ty Gobaith, the Chairman’s chosen charities for this year.

Councillor Ann Davies, Chairman of Denbighshire County Council, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people attending the Service, the church was full and a lot of people told me how much they enjoyed the performances.

“The Service provides an opportunity and platform for some of our children and young people from our schools to share some of the wealth of talent that exists in Denbighshire.

“We were delighted with the level of support and would like to thank people for supporting these worthy charities through joining us at the start of our countdown to Christmas”.
