A NINE-piece explosion of ska, rap and brassy dub are set to get you moving at Bar 236 in aid of Alder Hey hospital.
Maroon Town formed in Brixton, London, in the late 1980s, with two childhood friends fusing spirituality and the cinematic sound of classic ska with contemporary street rap and a cheeky slice of Latin funk.
Taking their inspiration from the original rebels of Maroon Town in Jamaica, who fought off the colonial invaders and set up their own independent community, the group have had success across the globe with track such as Pound to the Dollar, Cumbia, Ya Ya Lemme Tell Dem, and Infernal.
Members past and present have played with the likes of Groove Armarda, The Streets, Dub Pistols, Freestylers, Mika and more.
The group will be in Prestatyn on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6, with tickets prices at £5.
All proceeds will go towards Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool and tickets can be bought by contacting Bar 236, Prestatyn, on 01745850084.
