A NORTH Wales pensioner who denied a series of child sex charges was cleared on Wednesday.
Michael Knight, aged 66, of Salem Terrace, Rhydyfoel near Abergele, pleaded not guilty in January to five charges of sexual assault on a girl under 13.
A girl told a jury at Mold Crown Court how he touched her indecently – including an occasion when she alleged that he put his hand inside her bikini bottoms while she was in a swimming pool.
Knight, who works as a carer for people suffering from dementia, and who had never been in any trouble before, said that nothing sexual had ever occurred between them.
Following a trial in front of Judge Peter Heywood, he was found not guilty of all charges by the jury.
