A NEW superfast mobile internet service is being switched on in Rhyl.
The town today(Wednesday) becomes the 200th location in the UK to receive 4G network coverage, which offers internet download speeds more than five times faster than the 3G mobile internet currently available on most smartphones, tablets and laptops.
The coverage is available through network provider EE - the only 4G provider in north Wales.
An EE spokesperson said: “Residents and businesses in Rhyl will benefit from superfast internet access, which will allow people to do more on the go, whether travelling to work, at home or whilst out and about.”
Regional manager, Anthony Potts, added: “With speeds over five times faster than 3G, the arrival of 4G is great news for businesses and residents in and around Rhyl.
“4G from EE unlocks the true potential of smartphones and tablets, allowing customers to access the content they care about quicker and more easily than ever before – whether browsing social media, streaming the latest movies, or downloading large work files on the go.”
