A RADIO ham raped a boy of 14 who shared his interest after plying him with whisky until he felt dizzy, a court heard today (Tuesday).

Kenneth Dobson, 74, of Foryd Road, Kinmel Bay,  was jailed for nine years after being convicted by a jury of the rape and admitting indecent assaults.

Judge Niclas Parry said at Caernarfon crown court that the victim had “idolised” Dobson. The abuse happened more than a decade ago.

Judge Parry said :”This case involved a gross breach of trust and targeting of a child.”

He told the defendant :”You came to see him as an object on whom you could satisfy your sexual urges.”

Defence counsel Sion ap Mihangel said the offences were “abhorrent” and the pensioner recognised it.
