NORTH Wales police have continued their crack down into the supply and possession of controlled drugs across Denbighshire.

This morning (August, Friday 15) police executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant in Rhyl.

A quantity of what is believed to be class A controlled drugs was seized and a 33-year-old man from the area has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

Sergeant Mark Jones, Rhyl Police Station, said “A warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act was executed this morning in Princess Street, Rhyl and a quantity of what is believed to be class A controlled drugs were recovered.

"A local man has been arrested and will be questioned later today.

"Our enquiries continue but we are obviously eager to hear from anyone who has any information about the supply of controlled drugs in the Princess Street area of Rhyl to contact Police or Crimestoppers.

"Let’s work together to clear our communities of those who pedal drugs”.

This morning’s action was part of Operation Scorpion - an on-going effort to tackle illegal drug production, possession and supply in the region.

Anyone with information regarding controlled drugs in the county area can telephone North Wales Police on 101.

Alternatively anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
