PUPILS at Emrys ap Iwan are celebrating after collecting their “exceptional” A level results this morning.

The school had a huge success rate again this year with 98 per cent of pupils gaining two or more A levels from grades A* to C.

Lee Cummins, headteacher of Emrys ap Iwan, said: “Learners have excelled in both traditional and vocational subjects. Particularly pleasing have been the number of learners who have been able to secure the highest grades across a range of subjects.

“This is another magnificent achievement for all concerned with Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan. We are delighted for all our learners. Our sixth form provision continues to flourish and I would like to thank all parents and staff who have tirelessly supported these young people in achieving their dreams and securing their next step on the road to even greater success.

“We wish every learner continued success and happiness as they move on to pursue their chosen careers and further study.”

Some of the top performers at the school include Jack McDonald, who gained four A*’s and an A grade, Rory Caine who gained two A’s and a B grade, Laura Steel who gained one A*, one A, one B and one C, Melissa Sumaliong who gained one A and three B’s and Daniel Davies who gained one A* and two A’s.

The enrolment day for Emrys ap Iwan's Sixth Form is Tuesday, September 2 from 9am.
