POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman had her late husband's wedding ring stolen from her when she was set upon by a group of teenagers at a Prestatyn holiday camp.

The 60-year-old woman, who was crossing the grounds of Pontins Holiday Park, near to chalets, on her mobility scooter, was set upon by teenagers last Thursday at about 11.15pm.

As well as her late husband's wedding ring, the woman had a number of items stolen from her including money, cigarettes, engagement ring from her left ring finger and a gold necklace carrying a white jade dragon.

DC Andy Pendleton said: “The victim describes herself as being on a path close to the car park where there were bushes on either side, when she was approached by a group of about five teenagers - three girls and two boys, who were aged between 15 and 17."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has knowledge of the identities of those responsible are asked to contact DC Pendleton at St Asaph CID on 101 quoting reference RC14123036.

Alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
