UPDATE: Prestatyn pensioner charged with drink driving after crashing car into club

A WOMAN in her 70's has been charged of drink driving after she crashed her car into a Prestatyn bar.

The incident occurred at around 9pm on Wednesday, July 30, when a Volkswagen Polo crashed into the side wall of Bar 236 on Meliden Road.

The woman, aged 73, has been charged with drink driving and dangerous driving, and she is scheduled to appear at Prestatyn Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 26.

There was significant damage to both the vehicle and the wall, but nobody is believed to have sustained injuries from the crash.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said; "We were called to a site on Meliden Road after a report a car had collided with a wall.

"Ambulance and fire crews also attended the scene, and the local authority were also informed about the structure of the building."
