Rhyl floods in december 2013

PLANS on how to prevent further flooding in Rhyl will be discussed later this month.

Residents from East Rhyl will be given an update on what has been done to reduce the risk of further flooding after more than 140 homes were flooded in December.

Denbighshire Council and other partner organisations are inviting residents affected by the floods to attend another drop-in session to steps being taken to reduce flooding in the future, what we have done so and advice on protecting their property in future.

The session will take place between 2pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, July 24 at the Pavilion Theatre, Rhyl.

In May residents told the Journal they felt forgotten, six months after they were forced to leave their homes.

They have been calling for flood defence work to be carried out between Splash Point and Rhyl Golf Club to stop a repeat of the damage caused.
