THE parents of a toddler allegedly found wandering the streets of Rhyl in her pyjamas will be asked to enter pleas to neglect charges in September.

The couple aged 26 and 19 appeared at a preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court on Friday.

Judge Niclas Parry rebailed them pending a plea hearing in September.

The court heard that there were on-going care proceedings in the family court and that the child was currently in care.

An earlier hearing was told  that a member of the public took the two-year-old to the police station after finding her at 10.30am on May 23.

When she was taken home it was alleged that the conditions in the flat were appalling, with the toddler's cot in the same room as caged animals and dog faeces.

The couple have as yet given no indication of plea.
