Abergele man struck by train identified

AN Abergele man who died after being hit by a train near Colwyn Bay has been named, an inquest heard.

Coroner for North Wales East and Central, John Gittins, stated that Laurence McWade, aged 40, suffered “substantial injuries” in the incident, which occurred at 12.07pm on Saturday, June 28, half a mile from Colwyn Bay train station.

Mr McWade, who was identified by his fingerprints, had no known fixed address, with his last address being registered at Lon Derw, Abergele.

The inquest was adjourned to a full hearing in Llandudno scheduled for December.
