Abergele man dies after being struck by train near Colwyn Bay

AN Abergele man has died after being hit by a train near Colwyn Bay.

The incident occurred at 12.07pm on Saturday, June 28, and the 41-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to the line near Colwyn Bay railway station after a report that a person had been struck by a train.

"Officers from BTP and North Wales Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 12.07pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

“The man’s family have been informed and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.12pm on Saturday, June 28 to reports a person had been struck by a train near Abergele. A BASICS Doctor and a Clinical Team Leader attended, and sadly one person was pronounced dead at scene.”
