A PARROT that went missing from it’s home in Prestatyn more than a week ago has returned safe and sound.

George the parrot, who is 25-years-old, was spotted by a young Prestatyn girl on Nursery Close after he flew from his cage at his home on Bryntirion drive Drive last Sunday, June 15.

Owner, Simon Cabb, 49, said: “I went racing round with his cage and a piece of meat to coax him out of the tree. He must have been hungry because after about an hour he came down to land on my van and took the piece of meat.

"I had to precariously climb up a ladder to get him.”

Mr Cabb gave a reward to the family that found George.

He added: “It was an emotional moment, I don’t think we realised how much we missed him, I’m so grateful to everybody, he’s back to his old self now chewing up the furniture.”
