Plan to turn former Abergele Royal British Legion into flats

A PLANNING application has been submitted for the former Royal British Legion in Abergele.

The documents contain plans to turn the Water Street site into 10 flats, along with associated car parking and landscaping.

The building, which has been damaged by a fire, has had a number of previous applications and has been derelict since 2006.

An application put forward for the erection of ten flats at the beginning of this year was withdrawn.

Abergele councillor Jean Stubbs, said: “It is an absolute eyesore, at least this tidy's the area up and they’re saying we need new homes so that’s good. It is also a convenient spot for elderly people as it’s a good location.
