A TEAM of people from North Wales will be running the Chester half marathon to raise funds for St Kentigern Hospice.

The team members are led by Nisha Hamphire Jones and are 25 men and women strong, including Journal and North Wales Chronicle staff, sisters Cheryl Craigie and Donna Fisk.

Cheryl said: “The team have come together with different abilities, some of of which have never ran to the end of the road, never mind 13 miles. Training has been a challenge, and some are a little nervous but still extremely excited at the same time.

“Nisha’s leadership has been outstanding with keeping the team motivated and also organising two bag packing events at Asda in Kinmel Bay which friends and family all pitched in to make the two days very successful and were a huge help towards our target.

“The team are all very dedicated and some of the sponsors they are bringing in indvidually have been in their thousands.”

The race will be taking place on Sunday, May 18.

If you would like to help Team North Wales reach their target of £5,000 for St Kentigern visit or you can find a sponsorship form at The journal reception on Kinmel Street, Rhyl.
