A RHYL nightclub has had its licensing hours extended by Denbighshire Council's licensing sub-committee.

The Front Room, based on the High Street, has increased opening hours on Monday to Wednesday from 12.30am-2.30am.

This includes the sale of alcohol, provision of regulated entertainment and the provision to sell late night refreshments.

According to a report to the committee, North Wales Police initially raised objections to the application, but after discussions with the owners a number of licensing objectives were put in place.

The report states that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday only the first floor of the premise will be licensed beyond midnight - with the sale of alcohol permitted until 1.30am and the establishment closed by 2.00am.

Off premises sales of any drinks or refreshment will be allowed only until midnight of any night, and only pre-booked private parties will be allowed to use the first floor of the premises after midnight on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in accordance with the new agreement.
