THREE men appeared in court yesterday in connection with a robbery at the Londis store in Fforddisa, Prestatyn.

Paul Farringdon, aged 31, of Rippleton Road, Manchester, is charged with robbery, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance.

Ashley Critchley, aged 25, of Grange Road, Colwyn Bay, and Jonathan Burns, aged 33, of Mottershead Road, Manchester, are both accused of handling stolen property and Critchley faces two extra charges of possessing cannabis and cocaine.

All three appeared at Llandudno magistrates’ court and will next appear at Mold Crown Court on March 21.

Farringdon was remanded in custody and his co-defendants were both granted bail, one of the conditions being that they must not enter Denbighshire.

They must also observe a 6pm – 6am curfew.

Defence solicitor Alex Fitzgerald and Craig Hutchinson told District Judge Andrew Shaw that their clients would be denying the handling the charge though Critchley would probably plead guilty to the drug offences.

Don Roberts, acting as agent for Farringdon’s solicitor, said it was likely that he would plead guilty.
