COUNCIL tax will rise by five per cent in Conwy.
Councillors voted in favour of the increase for the 2014/2015 financial year in a meeting at Conwy Council HQ in Bodlondeb today(Thursday, February 20).
The council supported the recommendation that Band D Council Tax in the county be set at £964.89 - a £45.96 rise from current rates.
The increase will effect 71 per cent of all residents in the county, who will have to pay an extra 88p per week.
A council spokesperson said: “Conwy will continue to have the lowest Council Tax at Band D in North Wales and one of the lowest in Wales.”
The rise will take effect on Tuesday, April 1.
