Police in stand-off with Prestatyn man who refuses to leave his home

A 39-year-old Prestatyn policeman is refusing to leave his property after reports of a disturbance this morning (Monday).

North Wales Police have been in a stand-off with the man since 9.37am and have contained the adress in Trevor Road, Prestatyn.

It has been confirmed the man is a serving officer with Cheshire Police.

Specialist negotiators are attempting to resolve the matter peacefully and return the area to normality.

A police spokesman said: "North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance inside a house in Trevor Road.

"A 39-year-old local man, understood to be the occupier is refusing to leave. No one else is believed to be in the premises.

"Officers have "contained" the address with the intention of protecting the public then safely detaining the man."
