A DRIVER sustained minor injuries and had money taken from him following a robbery in Rhyl.

Police were alerted to the incident just before 9.45pm last night (Sunday). A food delivery driver, who was driving a grey coloured Toyota Corolla, had stopped in the Parc Esmor area to make a delivery.

It is believed that whilst in his vehicle he was approached by three men who then attacked him and stole items, including cash. The offenders then fled the scene.

The man was taken to hospital but was later released.

North Wales Police investigations are continuing. House to house inquiries are underway in the area and CCTV footage is being studied.

DI Sion Williams said: “I’d like to reassure residents that our inquiries are continuing to locate those responsible. I urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Parc Esmor last night and witnessed the incident or has information that will assist the investigation to contact Detectives at St Asaph on 101 immediately quoting reference number R005743.”

Alternatively, individuals with information can contact Crimetoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
