CONWY councillors have voted in favour of knocking down Colwyn Bay pier.
The Grade II listed Victoria Pier on the promenade will have to be delisted before it can be torn down, which would cost £1million.
Councillors met in Conwy County Borough Council headquarters in Bodlondeb to discuss the pier's future today (Thursday).
A report put to members estimates the full cost of renovating the pier at more than £15million - which includes the £4,379,600 grant the council would receive from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) if it was successful in the next round of funding.
In February, the council received a grant of £594,900 from the HLF towards a development phase - for which the council has estimated a complete budget of more than £1million pounds.
