A DECISION on plans which could see disruptive drilling work near a quiet street has been deferred.
DONG Energy is hoping to carry out hydraulic drilling on a site off the Coast Road, near Rhyl Golf Club, as part of onshore substation work for the proposed extension of the 69 turbine Burbo Bank Wind Farm, located seven miles offshore from Point of Ayr.
Residents on Terfyn Pella Avenue, which will be used to access the site, are concerned about drilling work and large trucks using their road. Planning officers had recommended the application, which includes a proposed substation south east of St Asaph Business Park and 11.14km of underground electricity cables from the substation to the coast at Ffrith Beach, for approval.
But Denbighshire Council’s planning committee deferred the decision so further negotiations can take place.
