RHYL actor Spencer Wilding has spoken about his biggest starring role to date.
The 6ft 7in former kickboxing champion, who has made his name in
Hollywood appearing in films such as Harry Potter, Batman Begins, The Wolfman, and many more, plays the role of Mason in the latest installment of the Green Street franchise.
Spencer, who has also appeared in BBC One’s world-wide hit Doctor Who, said his part in Green Street 3: Never Back Down, it is his biggest speaking part to date.
He said: “I play the head of the Milwall firm. It is a good story. There are a lot of fights and I did all my own stunts and the director allowed me to do some of my own stuff as well.
“This film is going to thrill people, it is not a film for the faint-hearted.”
The film, released on DVD and Blu Ray on October 21, explores the world of football hooliganism.
Spencer, who put on a London accent for the role, filmed in the capital in December last year.
He said: “There are a lot of good up and coming actors and I got to work with Scott Atkin, he is one of the best martial art and fighting experts around.
“It was really good working with the cast crew and the director James Nunn.”
As well as acting, Spencer runs kickboxing classes at the Ffrith Beach Arena in Prestatyn.
He said: “The film has a big following, the trailer has had 80,000 hits in two weeks on You Tube. I hoping for big things from this film. It has been getting good reviews. I think it is the best of the three and it is the biggest talking role that I have had. For football fans it is a must see.”
Spencer is looking forward to a busy year in 2014 with three feature films set for release.
A free screening of the film will be held at Rendezvous in Rhyl on Wednesday, October 23 at 9pm. Spencer will be in attendance and all are welcome to attend (over 18s only).
