PRESTATYN parents are being asked to stear clear of building work while dropping their children off at school.
Denbighshire Council is appealing those dropping off their children at Ysgol y Llys and Prestatyn High School to consider parking elsewhere until major building works are completed.
Painted lines have appeared on Princess Avenue, preventing people from parking there, in response to concerns from residents that their driveways were being blocked.
Jackie Walley, head of customers and education support, said: "The work at Prestatyn High School is complete but it means that buses can no longer reverse into the school car park.
"Coupled with the major extension works going on at Ysgol y Llys, parked cars have become an issue and we want to avoid any collisions or risk to the health and safety of children.
"That is why we are appealing to the local community to respect the parking restrictions in place and park elsewhere. We would like to thank people in advance for their co-operation and understanding."
The council is asking parent walk their children to school or to park elsewhere and walk the remainder of the distance.
